Google adds a small business hub to the Gemini app
What Google announced
On October 20, 2026, Google published a post from Vishnu Sivaji, Senior Director of the Gemini app, introducing a business landing page inside Gemini. Google describes it as one place where owners can build their brand, analyze finances, and understand customer insights.
Alongside the page, Google is making it easier to connect Gemini to other tools. The Google products on the list are Google Business Profile, Google Ads and Google Workspace. The outside apps are Adobe, Canva, Dropbox, Shopify, Wix, Zoho and Xero.
- Brand style: an owner can upload a website, brand kit, fonts or color palettes once, and Gemini keeps that style so guidelines do not need to be re-uploaded for each asset.
- Images: Google names Nano Banana 2.1 as its latest image model and says it can pair with the saved brand style to produce visuals for launches or ongoing campaigns.
- Finance: Gemini can turn spreadsheets, receipts and purchase records into financial graphics and interactive models.
Who can use it, and when
Google says the business landing page, marketing and finance skills, and new connected apps are beginning to roll out in the coming days, globally, for all Gemini app users. The post does not mention pricing or a required subscription tier. Because the rollout is gradual, not every account will see the page on day one.
The Business Profile connection has its own rules, set out in Google's help page. To use it, you must be 18 or older, sign in to the Gemini web app at gemini.google.com with a personal Google Account tied to the profile, and have Keep Activity turned on. It is not available to people who own or manage more than one verified Business Profile, and for now it does not work with work or school Google accounts.
What a connected Business Profile lets Gemini do
Google's help page lists what Gemini can do once a profile is linked. It can update details such as business hours, photos, contact information and action links for ordering, reservations or appointments. It can read star ratings and reviews, draft or delete review replies, and create, schedule or publish posts.
It can also summarize review themes and show performance numbers such as impressions, website clicks, direction requests and bookings. This builds on a June 2026 announcement in which Google first described the Business Profile connection and Business notebooks, a workspace that keeps your chats, sources and website in one place.
Limits and open questions
Google's announcement leaves several things unanswered. It gives no pricing, no list of countries, and no detail on what each outside app connection can read or change. The finance feature is described as taking seconds, but the post offers no accuracy figures, so any chart or model built from receipts and spreadsheets still needs a human check before it informs a decision.
There is also a practical gap. A tool that lives in a chat window answers when you ask. It does not, by itself, watch your inbox, follow up on a missed call, or push numbers to your team every morning.
What this means for your business
If you run a small or mid-size business, this is worth a look this week. A restaurant, dental office, contractor or retail shop with a single Business Profile can try asking Gemini to draft review replies, check last month's calls and direction requests, or update holiday hours. Any business with a brand kit can test whether the saved style produces on-brand social posts and flyers without a designer on every request.
Start small. Connect one tool, run a task you already do by hand, and compare the result with your own work. Keep a person in charge of anything customers will see or that touches your books.
Where this stops is the point at which work needs to run on its own, every day, across your phone lines, CRM and scheduling. Trnkey AI builds automations, AI agents, websites and dashboards on tools like these for businesses in any industry, so the routine steps happen without someone remembering to ask.
